Things are finally moving along on the adoption front. D's been sending documents all over the country for Authentication, and they have been rolling in. I had assumed that it would take the states a long time to get all of the documents back to us, but most have been back within a week. We've had to send documents to Kentucky, Mississippi, Nevada, Virginia, and Florida. The documents that were done here in Georgia were a little more of a pain. All of the documents had to be certified in the county where each of the Notary Public's commission was granted. D had to go to five different county's city halls to get all of the certifications, then had to take them into Atlanta to get them authenticated. Sort of a pain, but at least all of them were within an hour drive.
Yesterday we got fingerprinted at CIS in Atlanta. We showed up early and things went very quickly. CIS is super organized in Atlanta. It really seemed to function like the DMV, except way faster. Everyone was so nice there (except for a guy at the receptionist desk who had delusions that he was some kind of drill sergeant and that people who speak a different languages need you to speak louder for them to understand) and so efficient. D went first and talked the lady's ear off who was doing his fingerprints. When it was my turn, I got Mr. Vo. He and I conversed only when necessary, but we were finished several minutes before Chatty D and his fingerprint lady. D is so cute; he loves to talk to people about our adoption and the process. It cracks me up, because I am quite a bit more reserved and rarely chat it up with strangers. I admire how out going he is.
Anyway, after the CIS appointment, we actually did a little Christmas shopping. I have never shopped for Christmas presents this early. We haven't decided on The Bean's big present this year, but we got her quite a few new art supplies. We also picked up some stuff for D's twin two-year old nephews who will be here for Christmas.
Today should be a great day. It started with some much needed rain. For lunch we are going to The Bean's school for their Thanksgiving Feast. Then this evening we are dropping The Bean off at the Nard's and go into Atlanta for the Regina Spektor concert. We haven't been to a concert in years. It should be a lot of fun. Her music is so quirky and pretty, it should really make for an interesting night.

Missed you by a day! We were fingerprinted on Tuesday. glad things are moving along.
Oh and we LOVE Regina Spektor; I'd love to hear how the concert was. I heard she was recently taken to the ER...
The concert was rescheduled due to her illness. I haven't seen anything on what happened. They have tentatively rescheduled for Dec 5th. I've already put in my leave at work so I can make a day of it.
You should try and get tickets, there may be people trying to get their money back.
