Passports

Under the instruction of our CHI coordinator we are going tomorrow to submit the paperwork for our passports. I think D's is just a renewal, but it will be my first. Due to the changes that went in effect regarding Mexico and Canada, it's supposed to be taking quite a bit longer to get a passport. We are going to pay extra to try to get them expedited. I don't really know how that works, but D has looked into and said that's the way to go.
We haven't heard back from the Ethiopia Director, but it has only been a couple of days. I am really an impatient person, so this whole process is going to be really stressful for me. I am also somewhat of a control freak, so it will also be tough in that area. I mean, I really have very little control or influence over the whole process.

My dad's birthday was Wednesday. I had to get my teeth cleaned and work, so at least I had some distractions. It was still a trying day, and there were moments when I would remember little instants in time from when Dad was still alive. I can't imagine how hard it is for Gabe... she was only five when he passed. I wonder how much she actually remembers.

On a happy note, D's birthday is Sunday. We don't have any concrete plans, but he would like to go to an art museum. I would rather go to the RenFest, but it's not my B-Day, oh well. At least, the RenFest will be in town a while longer. Maybe I'll be able to convince him to go next weekend.

We watched two of the Nard's children tonight. Cait was well behaved and cute like always. What D and I enjoyed most, though, was watching Jason. He is the cutest baby. I had forgotten how cute 1 year-olds are. He absolutely loves D, too. Cait, of course, wanted to stay the night, but D said no. I think he didn't want The Bean staying up late giggling all night because we have to do the passports tomorrow.
