Summer Fun

I didn't get to go to Live Earth in Sydney. No shock there... I did, however, get to work an insane amount of time during that week, including 6 hours on the 4th. This did not hinder my fun, though. We went to the PTC parade in the morning. It was quite a parade, though not many floats. The Bean loved it and enjoyed goofing off with the Nards. Pooh did not enjoy it... I guess you can't please everyone.

After the parade, the Nards came back to our house and D grilled up some hot dogs and burgers (by this time, work had called and I was busy troubleshooting...). Everyone chilled for a while, then we went to one of the neighbor's parents' house which is on Lake Peachtree. We had a great view of the fireworks and had a good time hanging out with a bunch of the neighbors.

The rest of my week was spent working extremely long hours. Luckily, my boss felt sorry for me and gave me last week off. We took the opportunity to go down to visit the In-Laws in Florida. Normally we would also hit all of the theme parks, but decided not to so we could save money for the little one waiting for us in Ethiopia. We had a blast at the beach, though (nice and free.)

While in Florida, The Bean and I went to see Ratatouille. It was cute, but the kid/teen sitting behind us had the worst gas imaginable. I actually wanted to leave (theater was full) but The Bean was willing to deal with the stench. I had to take a shower when we got back home because I felt contaminated.

The drive home from FL was good, but we were bombarded with torrential downpours. When we got home, it was obvious that there had been some substantial rain while we were on vacation. All of the dry patches in our lawn were gone, and we had huge mushrooms sprouting up all over the place. I'm sure our neighbors loved it.

It's back to the grind tomorrow. I'm not really looking forward to it.

You had me for a moment...thought you were an Aussie with your mention of going to the concert in Sydney. I didn't go either but I am not as far away as you. Sorry you couldn't wrangle tickets (airline and concert).
