she knows

So Leigh has figured out the whole Santa/Easter Bunny/Tooth Fairy thing. She actually found out about the tooth fairy last year when she discovered the container where we had stored all of her old baby teeth (I thought it was kind of gross to keep all of them, but Doug insisted). Thankfully, she didn't correlate that if the tooth fairy was Mommy & Daddy then so was Santa. However, the kid picks up on details... always... and I'm actually a little irritated about how she found out about Santa.

I assumed when she figured it out, it would be because one of her friends older siblings had told him/her and then passed on the knowledge. But no, Leigh figured it out because of a radio commercial that she heard while shopping in the Dollar Tree. I'm not sure which commercial she heard, but it was specific enough that it completely negated her belief in Santa.

So, now she revels in her new knowledge and I am having difficulty getting her not to discuss it in front of other people. In fact, at least two kids in Target the other day may have been enlightened to the Santa deal when Leigh and I were shopping for Meron. She just would not shut up about it... it was funny, but I think those kids' mother was ready to murder us.

Anyway, lately I have been able to get in quite a bit of Mommy/Leigh time. Anytime I have to leave the house, she volunteers to go with me... even if it is just a quick trip to the grocery store. I am really enjoying this, but it has started to cause a little jealousy with Meron. Yesterday, I decided it was finally time for Leigh and I to get our hair cut and Meron looked broken hearted. I asked if she wanted to come, too, and initially she said no because she thought she would also have to get her hair cut. Once I made it clear that she could just come along and not get a hair cut she was all in.

Leigh was super cute at the hair salon and talked her stylists head off. I swear that kid could make friends with a rock when she turns on the charm. Meron was very well behaved, also, and hung out with me asking a gazillion questions while my hair was styled. I did have to remind her every couple of minutes to not touch the hair stylists equipment, but that's really minor for Meron's behavior and I was pretty impressed.

Anyway, Leigh's new haircut(picture above) is the best that she's had... and I love mine. The stylist flat ironed it, so this is probably the best it will look. I have no intention of putting that much time into my hair...

Leigh looks so grown-up and beautiful! I'm glad you are getting time with her and glad Meron decided to go w/ to the salon. How you manage it w/ three kids, I'll never know.
But HELLO! The star of this posting is YOU my dear. How gorgeous do you look in your skinny little jeans and fab hair??!!
Oh, and heck, that little nugget isn't to bad either!

The hairstyles are looking hot and where the hell are you going? You're melting in front of our eyes.

I'm glad Meron behaved at the salon. That's one place you don't want bad behaviors!
