So... Moving is not fun. It has been one rough week, and there are several more to come. I don't remember moving being this difficult as a kid, and we moved a lot.
Things went off as planned; minus the fact that the movers who delivered our stuff were "straight out the trailer" (if you can't throw in a Kid Rock reference in a blog, where can you?) The three movers were a pain and quite a bit of our stuff is broken or missing pieces. They also could not figure out how to put together our "European" beds (from Ikea, so I guess they are technically European.) They argued extensively, then appeared to almost get into a physical confrontation. They were still arguing when they were pulling the moving truck out of our driveway, and ran right into one of our new neighbors who was trying to drive down the street. Great introduction into the neighborhood, huh?
We also got the new washer and dryer (front loader washer, I absolutely love it.) And D got a new grill and lawn mower.
Georgia is pretty cool so far, except for the pollen. Everything here is covered in a thick layering of yellow dust. It is disgusting. The Bean went outside to play our first day in the house and came in quickly looking at her feet in pure disgust because of the pollen.
The Bean has made friends with a little girl across the street. The girl is about a 1/2 year younger than The Bean. I'm not sure if they really click at this point, or if they are just 'friends' due to location. We'll see, I guess. The Bean also started kindergarten at the new elementary school on Friday. She is really diggin' the full day kindergarten, although, she says that the in class work is too easy.
On a really exciting note ☺, we now have a Wii. We have been trying to get one for over a month, but everywhere has been sold out. We've had to do quite a bit of shopping over the past couple of days, and D happened to ask at Wal-Mart (my least favorite place to shop, but sometimes it is necessary) when they expected another shipment of Wii's. The guy told him they were getting a shipment of 8 Wii's and would be selling them starting at midnight tonight. So, D went up there around 11:30 and got in line. He was seventh in line. They actually did sell 8 Wii's at exactly midnight. I think if we were still in NOVA, we would have had to camp out for several days to get one of those Wii's.
