Finally

Sorry for no posts... I've been fighting an adware-installing Trojan horse. Hopefully, I've won.

Anyway things are finally moving again on the adoption front. My brother, who has advised that he sent three separate letters to the social worker, finally sent a reference letter certified and with tracking. It took a couple of days for her to get to the post office to pick it up, but at least that part is finished. I really don't know who to believe. My brother said he sent letters. Our social worker said she didn't receive them. I would like to think my brother would not lie about something like that, but I also want to believe that a social worker would not screw around with people like that. It's not worth trying to get to the bottom of it.

Our SW will be coming to the house on Tuesday to do our last homestudy appointment. This will be the first time she has been to our house. I can't explain it, but I am not nervous at all about it. I think it is probably easier for us, because we just moved to the house in March, so we haven't had time for it to get too yucky. :)

After the appointment, our SW will write up our homestudy and send it to us. We'll review it and then it will be sent to CHI for review. Once that is finished it will have to go to homeland security so that we can be finger printed again. I am hoping all of this goes quickly, because I am scheduled to go to Moscow, Russia and then on to a little town way up in the Mountains in Italy for work in Mid October. I'll just be installing some equipment, grunt work, really, but at least I'll get to spend one day in Rome. There are also a lot of old Roman ruins around the area that I'll be staying in the mountains, so they'll also be interesting. I'm not sure what to think about Russia. All of my colleagues who have been there say that it is very dangerous, and several were mugged while they were there. They've all advised to stay to the touristy (word?) areas. I guess the fear of ticking off the Russian Mafia does squelch my adventurous side a bit.
