Yesterday it actually snowed a little here in the Atlanta area. I drove home from work through the snow and sleet and it almost felt like I was back in Virginia.
Last weeks trip to Maryland sucked went fairly well. I learned quite a bit, but, boy, did I pull in some long hours. Tuesday was my birthday and I worked (manual labor, no less) until 8 pm. My supervisor made up for it, a little, by taking me to a cute little Japanese steakhouse. He, of course, told them it was my birthday and they sang to me and gave me a really awesome tempura fried cheese cake.
The rest of the week went by without incident, but I was so happy to get home on Friday.
Here in the ATL, I did not get out of packing up all of the equipment for Hawaii as my Manager said I would. In fact, I should be finishing it up today and shipping it tomorrow. I didn't mind do much, because it meant that I was able to spend less time talking on the phone and emailing irate customers.
In other news, our dossier has been mailed to Ethiopia. I am shocked how quickly it made it through the Department of State and the Ethiopian embassy. Before D was able to call them to ask where our dossier would go next, CHI was calling us to let us know that they were ready to ship it to Addis.
I'm so very excited! Now all we can do it wait for our referral. Unfortunately, we can't really even begin to get the rooms ready, because we left everything so open. How do you prepare bedrooms for kids that could be from birth to five years? Oh well, it will be a fun rush once we've accepted our referral.
