WOW

So things have been pretty hectic here in Wheeler World. Work has been at it's usual break neck pace which has taken up the majority of my time. I also recently applied for the top level position at our North Shore Teleport (no nothing like star trek). I interviewed, and was happy with my answers and demeanor in the interview, but they expressed some concern over my level of management experience. I can understand... I haven't had that much (most of what I do is purely technical), but I would love to have this job, and I think I would be great at it. It would be manager of the entire facility, plus lease holder for a farm, two other companies facilities, and like 5 residential houses (in total 227 acres).

Also, since January, Meron has had a scalp infection. It was so strange, one day like a zillion little bumps popped up all over Meron's scalp. We took her to the doctor right away, and they said it was folicolitis. Initially, we were trying to keep her hair, but it became impossible and we have recently had to cut it pretty short. I almost cried when we did it, but kept it hidden from her. She's actually ok with it, because she hated getting her hair done. It was a battle everytime we had to even brush it. Anyway, we are now making regular visits to the dermatologist and washing her hair everyday (not good for the hair, but perfect for the scalp). Her scalp has almost completely healed, and her hair is already growing pretty quickly.

We also recently had our final visit from the social worker. The big 12 month visit (12 months doesn't actually happen until May, but that's when the report needs to be in Ethiopia). It went really well. Meron clammed up, but sort of came out of her shell towards the end of the visit. Over all, it went really well.

Today... Today has been a shocking and exciting day. Today I saw these two pink lines:

I am in shock. I am still absorbing. I am happy.

I have been floating all day with the news. So happy for you :)
I'm sorry to hear about Meron's scalp condition-but I'm glad to hear it's clearing up and doing well.

I cannot believe your one year report is due soon. That's insane.
INSANE.

I'll keep hoping for you to get the job. You plus D plus the Bean, SweetPea AND TaterTot (I made that up just now, how creative) in Hawaii would = one happy Manda :)

Wow! Wow! Wow! What an insanely exciting post. Poor Meron's scalp and I hope you get the job. And WOW! Oh my goodness, I can just imagine those two girls as a big sister team. Wow.
